Winning the Federation Cup will heal our wounds, says Nasarawa’s Lordson Ichull

The defensive midfielder says the Solid Miners had a bad season, but insisted that winning the country’s most prestigious title will make up for their bad season
Nasarawa United midfielder, Lordson Ichull has said that his side are battle ready for this Saturday’s Federation Cup semifinal clash against Enyimba.
The Solid Miners finished 10th on the Nigeria Professional Football League log in the recently concluded league season, and the former Warri Wolves player believes winning the country’s longest cup championship will see them return to the continent.
Ichull also admitted that their game against the People’s Elephants at the Adamasingba stadium will be a tough one, but insisted that the winning the title will mean so much to the team as well as the state as a whole.
“Right now, the Federation Cup is the only opportunity we have to win silverware and also play on the continent, so everybody in our shoes and that of our opponent won’t want to let go easily, but we are expecting a positive result in our favour.
“If they are wounded, we are wounded as well. No team participating in the league will say they are just participating for the sake of it, all the teams have targets so do we.
“Since we have lost out in the league and the other continental slot, this is the only way we believe we can go back to the continent; it is not going to be easy because both teams need the FA cup most.”
