We’ll Work For Akeredolu To Become Next Ondo State Governor-Alasoadura

The Senator representing Ondo Central at the National Assembly, Tayo Alasoadura, has called on the aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state to rally support for the Candidature of Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu as the next governor of the state.

Mr. Akeredolu said the members should also ensure they work for the victory of the party in all the 18 Local Government Areas of the state ahead of the Saturday November 26th governorship election.

He made the call on Monday while speaking with reporters at the Alagbaka office of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Press Centre in Akure.

Senator Alasoadura explained that some members of the party had been aggrieved following the alleged fraudulent process that produced Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu as the governorship candidate of the APC in the state.

Alasoadura also pleaded with the aggrieved governorship aspirants that contested for the party’s ticket to bury their differences and work for Mr. Akeredolu to become the next governor of the state.

“Now is the time to sink our differences and move forward as a united family to win in the November 2016 governorship election for our party by supporting the candidature of Barrister Oluwarotimi Akeredolu by all true democrats.

“Though some party members might have been aggrieved by the process that led to the emergence of Barrister Oluwarotimi Akeredolu but we don’t have any more time for internal wrangling.

“What is therefore reasonable to do is to move on so that posterity will not judge us harshly for sacrificing the good of our people on the altar of personal aspirations” he said.

The APC chieftain tasked the leaders and members of the APC in the State to embrace peace by collectively working for the success of the party’s candidate.

“The danger of not halting immediately all attitudes detrimental to the victory of APC in the November 2016 governorship election in Ondo State to say the least will be very dangerous to the wellbeing of our people and members of the party”.

Senator Alasoadura who threw his support for Akeredolu ahead of the November gubernatorial election in the state also pleaded with the party’s National Leaders most especially Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu to support the party has they prepare for the poll.

“While my supporters and I appeal for calm and are ready to work with Barrister Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, we want to wholeheartedly plead with our leaders at the National level and more importantly our dear Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and all other concerned citizens to candidly bear with us and our idiosyncrasies in Ondo State”.

He further described Tinubu as one of the few foremost leader who has contributed immensely to the growth of the party in the southwest.

Alasoadura assured that the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) would soon come out of its trying times and wrestle power from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the State.

“Ondo State cannot afford to extend by a minute the current callous, reckless and do nothing present administration in the state. We must collectively terminate the inhuman and pretentious reign of the current government which had enslaved our people for the past eight years”.

The APC Chieftain tasked the members of the opposition party to further rally more support for Akeredolu in order to match the feet of the party with the controls government at the federal level.

“We cannot afford to be in opposition to the government of President Muhammadu Buhari for the sake of one man who had for eight years worked for himself and cared for his heart alone.

“I can vouch for Barrister Akeredolu that he will be responsive to our yearnings and aspirations. He will put the interest of Ondo State people at heart” he said.
