We came on board when all hope was lost – Commissioner

The Bauchi state commissioner for Information and Communication, Alhaji Garba Dahiru, has disclosed that the present Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led administration in the state came to power at a time when all hope of good governance was lost.

The commissioner stated this on Saturday in his welcoming remark, at the Command Guest House, venue of a media chat organised by Governor Bala Mohammed to mark his one year anniversary.

“Twelve months ago, history was made in Bauchi where the incumbent was rooted out of power by the massive votes of the good people of the state”, Dahiru recalled.

He added: “We came in when all hope of good governance was lost in our dear state, the state was at the verge of standstill with fallen infrastructure, insensitivity to citizens’ rights coupled with a demoralized workforce.”

He said that few days ago, journalists were led by the government across local governments of the state to see for themselves what the governor has done for the people of the state.

Dahiru, who said that the people of Bauchi state now have a listening governor that is responsive and responsible, noted that the first one year is a foundation year.
