Volkswagen will be extending the appeal of its Tiguan SUV to those with larger families with the introduction of a stretched seven-seat version early next year.
Going up against Nissan’s X-Trail, the stretched Tiguan will use the Allspace designation in its home market of Europe, while in other markets the such as the USA, it’ll simply be called the Tiguan.
Besides disclosing that the wheelbase will be stretched by 11cm over the current five-seater, Volkswagen isn’t saying much else about the Tiguan Allspace ahead of its official reveal at the Detroit Motor Show in January.
However, its equipment and engine range is certain to mirror the five-seat version, with a full-line up of TSI turbopetrol and TDI turbodiesel engines, with outputs ranging from 85kW to 162kW.
