Union locks Nasarawa CJ, prevents lawyers others access to court
The National Executive Council of Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) has locked Justice Suleiman Dikko, Nasarawa State Chief Judge (CJ) at the High Court Headquarters Lafia.
The CJ who disguised and entered his office around 8:00 am, was locked inside as the Union blocked the entrance of the court.
National President of JUSUN, Marwan Mustapher-Adamu led other members of the National Executive Council (JUSUN) on a protest on Monday in Lafia.
The President was also represented by Saidu Adamu, National Assistant Secretary of the Union, also prevented lawyers and other management staff access to the court.
The President explained that the Union would continue to stage a peaceful protest at the court for three consecutive days and nobody would be allowed in or out of the court.
Similarly, Jimoh Musa, Nasarawa State Chairman of JUSUN, said the strike was to press home demands for better welfare.
He listed some of the demands to include: illegal deduction on their salaries, lack of payment of five years promotion arrears, lack of convention of staff with higher qualification among others.
The Union embarked on an indefinite strike since Nov. 13 2018, to demand for better welfare of its members.
Officials of the union from all the states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) were part of the protest.
