Umahi declares state of emergency on prisons in Ebonyi

The governor of Ebonyi state chief David Umahi has at the weekend

followed the botched jail break in Abakaliki prisons declared a state

of emergency on all the Prisons both in Afikpo and Abakaliki prisons

in the state.

Umahi  made the declaration when speaking to journalists in Abakaliki

lamented that the jailbreak by the inmates has brought pains to the

state.

“ I was told of attempted jailbreak by inmates of Abakaliki Prisons.

The Commissioner of Police(Peace Ibekwe-Abdallah) reported the

incident to me and did promise that they (police)were reinforcing.
