Two killed in Ajalli as unknown gunmen attack

Two persons were yesterday shot dead in Ajalli Village, Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State as dare devil gun wielding men attacked the peaceful community, leaving in their trail, years and blood.

The armed men were said to have arrived the village in an unmarked Hilux van on 30,  September 2021 and went straight to Okechukwu Nwafor’s compound shooting him at close range before proceeding to kill Obumneme Mbonu Okafor who reportedly have a shop close by.

The unfortunate incident which threw the village into confusion with many abandoning their children in the process, is said to precede an earlier warning note containing names of six aboriginal people of Ajalli Village reportedly marked for elimination by the Easter Security Network, ESN over alleged acts of betrayal of the cause to actualize the sovereign State of Biafra.

The names which had Okechukwu Nwafor and Obumneme Mbonu Okafor including that of Ifeanyi Raphael Otti and others, it was learned had been sent to the police authorities who had assured the villagers of needed protection.

Distraught sources at the village claimed that the gunmen had also gone to attack Ifeanyi Raphael Otti in his home, taking out their anger on his family house which they vandalized when they could not find him.
One of the sources hinted that Ifeanyi Raphael Otti had ran into the bush through the back door when he heard the gun fire in the early hours of the day having known that he could be the next target.

It was revealed that he had barely escaped when the gun trotting felons invaded his apartment shooting into the ceiling ostensibly to get at him should he be hiding there.

This attack they said was just one of several others targeted at individuals resulting in the people living in perpetual fear and anxiety.

It would be recalled that incidents of violent attacks like this have become common place in Anambra State and other parts or the South Eastern Zone of Nigeria leaving the government in some cases helpless.
