Tuggar hails Rwanda’s progress, reaffirms Nigeria’s commitment to stronger ties

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, has praised Rwanda’s resilience and socio-economic progress, reaffirming Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening diplomatic and bilateral ties with the East African nation.
Tuggar extended his warmest congratulations to Olivier Nduhungirehe, Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, on the occasion of the country’s Independence Anniversary, describing it as a historic milestone for the people of Rwanda.
“The Independence anniversary certainly marks a significant milestone in Rwanda’s history, symbolizing resilience, progress, and the enduring spirit of the Rwandan people,” Tuggar said. He commended Rwanda’s “remarkable socio-economic transformation, commitment to peace, and leadership in regional and global affairs under the visionary stewardship of President Paul Kagame.”
He emphasized the shared values and aspirations of both nations, noting that “as fellow members of the African Union and the Commonwealth of Nations, Nigeria values the strong bilateral relations between our two countries and remains committed to deepening cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including trade, technology, and sustainable development.”

The Minister highlighted the significance of the occasion as a time to renew Nigeria’s diplomatic ties and foster deeper collaboration that will benefit both countries and the African continent at large.
“On this joyous occasion, therefore, we reaffirm Nigeria’s solidarity with Rwanda and look forward to continued collaboration in advancing peace and sustainable development, pan-African unity, and prosperity for our people,” Tuggar concluded.
