Delivering a sermon to commemorate Easter festivities on Sunday, Ehusani said that the same God who raised Jesus Christ from the dead is still in charge of the universe.

‘Authority must avoid segregation in sharing COVID-19 palliatives’

“On this Easter Sunday, I invite all of you Christians to look intently at the cross of Christ and at the crosses you bear today and say courageously with faith and hope that this too shall pass away.”

The cleric described Christians as people of hope, noting that Easter is a time to announce to a discouraged and hopeless world that the redeemer lives.

“The death of Jesus has diminished and conquered all sufferings on earth and the triumph of evil in the world is only a mirage.

“The pains, agonies, sufferings and tribulations which Christians endure at the moment will pass away,” said Ehusani.

He advised Christians who had been beaten and humiliated by unjust political, social and economic systems of the world to have faith and hope.

This year’s Easter celebration has been remarkably different with Christians marking the event in their homes and joining various live religious telecasts to commemorate the event.

The 2020 celebration was devoid of the usual processions, passion playlets and midnight vigils, due to the lockdown ordered by the Federal Government to curb spread of COVID-19.

Easter is celebrated every year by Christendom to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

It is celebrated after a 40-day fasting, known as Lent.
