Tinubu Makes 22 New Appointments Across Key Federal Agencies

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of 22 individuals into various strategic positions across federal agencies, commissions, and institutions, reflecting his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and institutional reform.

Yazid Shehu Umar Danfulani from Zamfara State has been appointed as the Managing Director of the Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC). Joining him at NAIC are Babaranti Ayandayo Rasheed from Osun State, who will serve as Executive Director (Finance and Administration), and Abubakar Umar Jarengol from Adamawa State, who takes the role of Executive Director (Operations/Technical).

Hon. (Dr.) Asabe Vilita Bashir from Borno State has been named Director-General of the National Centre for Women Development. Momoh Jibril from Kogi State has been appointed as a Board Member of the Federal Mortgage Bank, while Comrade Isa Aremu from Kwara State will serve as Director-General of the Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies.

Senator Jalo Zarami from Yobe State and Hon. Dr. Joseph Haruna Kigbu from Nasarawa State have been appointed as Federal Commissioners at the National Population Commission.

Hamza Ibrahim Baba from Kano State has been appointed as the National Program Manager of the Government Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Program (GEEP). In the agricultural sector, Abubakar Adamu from Benue State becomes the Executive Secretary of the Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria.

Mohammed Lawal Ibrahim from Kogi State has been named Executive Director (Finance and Administration) at the Nigerian Sao Tome Joint Development Authority, while Abdullahi Mohammed from Katsina State will serve as Executive Director (Monitoring and Implementation) in the same institution.

Senator Tijjani Yahaya Kaura from Zamfara State has been appointed as Director-General of the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre. Former Edo State Deputy Governor, H.E. Philip Shaibu, will now lead the Nigerian Institute of Sport as Director-General.

Omobolane Akinyemi-Obe from Ondo State has been appointed as Director-General of the National Senior Citizen Centre in Abuja. Dr. Segun Aina from Osun State will head the Academic Staff College of Nigeria as Director-General.

Former Senate President, Senator Ken Nnamani from Enugu State, has been named Chairman of the Nigerian Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, while Senator Anyim Pius Anyim from Ebonyi State has been appointed Chairman of the National Merit Award.

H.E. Ibrahim Shehu Shema from Katsina State has been appointed Chairman of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), and Senator Engr. Kabiru Abdullahi Barkiya, also from Katsina, will serve as Chairman of the Nigerian Agricultural Land Development Authority.

Dr. Shuaibu Shehu Aliyu from Kaduna State has been named Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-formal Education, while Professor Almustapha Alhaji Aliyu from Sokoto State takes over as Managing Director of the NNPC Gas Marketing Limited (NGML).

These appointments underscore President Tinubu’s drive to reposition key government institutions with capable leadership to deliver on the goals of his Renewed Hope Agenda.
