Just a week after 2 Chinese men were abducted at the Zango Daji area of Kogi state, another set of three Chinese nationals have been abducted in the same locality, the police confirmed on Saturday.
The Gunmen stormed the company premises where the Chinese reside, between 4:00am and 5:00am. They engaged in bullet battle with the Police officials attached to the Chinese and in the process one of the Police officers was killed while others sustained injury.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Samuel Ogunjemilusi, has confirmed the incident saying the kidnappers escaped with their victims on foot through the bush path.
“Three Chinese nationals were abducted by some unknown gunmen within the early hours of Friday’ he said
The Commissioner also confirmed that a police was killed during the shoot out. He said the Police will soon arrest the kidnap cartel in the state.
“One policeman was killed while another sustained gunshot wounds,” he said.
It was not immediately clear if the motive was ransom-taking.
