Taraba in safe hands with Ishaku – NEPAD state coordinator

The Taraba state Coordinator of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD), Elder Dennis Orkuma Nev, has counseled some ambitious politicians from the state who are eyeing the governorship seat come 2019, to desist, advising that they should rather wait till 2023 because, there is no vacancy yet in state Government House.

Elder Nev, who noted that Taraba state is in safe hands with Governor Darius Ishaku stated this in Jalingo while briefing the media on some developments in the state.

While commending the governor for providing what he described as quality leadership to the people of the state the coordinator emphasized that the people of the state have seen development springing up in all the nooks and crannies under Ishaku’s administration.

He said that Governor Ishaku came on board with a clear cut agenda to, “Rescue the State” from the shackles of underdevelopment, poverty, unemployment and restoration of peace among others.

Elder Nev further said, the opening up of rural roads in the state by Gov. Ishaku is bringing development closer, and easing movement of people and goods across the state pointing out that such will soon translate into improvement in the economic fortunes of the state.

“Permit me, to lend my voice on the calls for the governor to come back in 2019. These calls are imperative because the developments going on in the state are well known even to the blind. I therefore, call on the people of Taraba irrespective of their affiliations to join hands with our amiable governor in building a virile Taraba state for the good of all,” he said.

Elder Nev said that the economic importance of some of the projects embarked upon by Governor Ishaku cannot be overemphasized stressing that NEPAD in Taraba are poised to queue into his developmental agenda.

He described NEPAD in the state as a holistic, comprehensive and integrated strategic framework for the socio economic development of Africa.

Elder Nev maintained that NEPAD is aimed at eradicating poverty in Africa and to place African countries on the part of sustainable growth and development. ” Simply put, NEPAD is all about good governance “, he added.
