A young man, Chukwu Chisom Francis has been banished by the people of Amuri in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State over their alleged involvement in homosexual activities.
This is also as the police confirmed that a manhunt has been launched for him after a case of unnatural sexual acts was reported against him and his friend Victor Edeh.
A community leader in the Amuri community, Chief Peter Nwoye told journalists that Francis and his friend were caught red-handed engaging in what he called desecration of the community.
It was gathered that this was not the first time Francis and his friend and co-tailor would be accused of being homosexuals.
A few weeks before the current incident, a customer was said to have walked into the duo romancing each other right inside their shop.
However, when the customer raised an alarm, the duo denied committing such an act.
The community leader said following such the report, they mounted surveillance on Francis and his friend.
“The surveillance paid up on April 5, 2024 when we caught them red-handed inside Fransis’s room.
“They were both discovered making love in Francis’s room.
“The attention of neighbours was attracted when they were engaging in the immoral act; so, they invited other villagers and they broke into the room and saw both men naked.
“However, Francis managed to escape but his partner was beaten to stupor.
“What they committed is an abomination and no matter how long they run, we will get them anytime they step foot into our community.
“We have banished them having desecrated the land; what they did is an atrocity of the highest magnitude,” the community leader said.
Similarly, the Enugu State police command has equally declared Francis wanted.
A top police chief said while Victor has been charged to court and remanded in prison custody, Francis is on the run.
“The report we have suggests that they are notorious in luring people into homosexual activity.
“The said suspect, who is at large, Chukwu Chisom Francis, is 23 years-old, and is a native of Amuri in Nkanu West.
“Anybody who knows his whereabouts should assist the police with information,” the police said.
