Why INEC deregistered 74 political parties

Abuja -The National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday deregistered 74 out of 92 registered political parties in the country. Announcing the de-registration in a press briefing in Abuja, INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu said they were deregistered for their inability to fulfill requirements for existence based on Section 225A of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).
