Sunday Folayan Elected as New NiRA President

Mr. Sunday Folayan has been elected as the new Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA) President during its seventh Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Lagos.

Folayan was formerly the Vice President, NiRA and from the elections he contested was unanimously endorsed as unopposed by members for the position of the President. He takes over from erstwhile president, Mrs. Mary Uduma.

The position of Vice President was won by Mr.Muhammed Rudman who was formerly a member of the Executive Board of Directors of NiRA, while Mr.SegunAkano, the MD/CEO Upperlink Limited and Mr. Sunday Olutayo, the CEO Sadeeb Technologies Limited won the positions for members of NiRA Executive Board of Directors.

The new Executive Board of Directors of NiRA include: Mr. Sunday Folayan- President; Mr.Muhammed Rudman- Vice President; Mr.SikiruShehu- Finance Secretary; Mr.AdebiyiOladipo- Treasurer; Mr. Bimbo Olayinka; Mr. Tope Fashedemi; Mr.LanreAjayi; Mr.AdebunmiAkinbo; Mr.SegunAkano and Mr. Sunday Olutayo.

Chief Operating Officer, Nigeria Internet Registration Association, Edith Udeagu who confirmed this development to the press said “We congratulate the newly elected members of the Executive Board of Directors of NiRA and wish all a successful tenure in office”.

NiRA is the registry for .ng Internet Domain Names and maintains the database of names registered in the .ng country code Top Level Domain.The Association is a self-regulating body and managers of the .ng national resource.The country code Top Level Domain (ccTLD) name space in the public interest of Nigeria and global internet communities
