STF moves to end Plateau killing, relocates to troubled zones

The Special Task Force (STF), code name Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), saddled with the responsibility of restoring peace in the troubled parts of Plateau, Bauchi and Southern Kaduna, has relocated its headquarter to the most vulnerable part of Plateau communities under Barkin-ladi Local Government Area.

This aims at stopping the incessant Fulani herdsmen attack that has hitherto bedevilled Plateau State is brought to an end.

Part of the moves in nipping the crisis in the bud, include military tactics of Cordon and Search as the lead in ending the current setting up a Strike Force Base at Barkin-ladi, aimed at deploying crucial face-off between the herdsmen and the indigenous inhabitants of the Barkin-ladi community.

Major Gen. Anthony Atolagbe of the STF said “it has become imperative to relocate to Barkin-ladi axis of the State and to intensify in the Cordon and Search Operations considering the current security challenges facing the locals in this general area”.
