Shiite attack: Victim sues FG, asks court to declare IMN terrorist organisation

A victim of Shiite attack, Sunday Attah, has sued the federal government before a federal high court ‎in Abuja seeking an order to compel government to declare the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) (Shiite group) a terrorist organisation.

In an exparte motion dated August 29th, 2018, filed through his counsel, Chief Amobi Nzelu, Attah‎ asked the court for leave to apply for the issuance of an order of mandamus compelling the respondents (Attorney-General of the Federation and the Inspector -General of Police) to proscribe or categorize the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (Shiite movement) as a terrorist organisation.

In an affidavit to the suit, marked FHC‎/ABJ/930/2018, the plaintiff said the sect has constituted itself into a body that wilfully disobey the law, assault non-members and cause nuisance to other road users.
