Security is everybody business, says new DDI

A new Acting Director of Defence Information (ADDI), Brigadier General John Agim has said that the job to ensure security of life and property as well as prevent attack is the work of everybody.
Brigadier General Agim stated this on Monday in Abuja at a brief handing and taking over ceremony from former Director of Defence Information (DDI), Major General John Enenche who is now the Commandant Nigeria Army War College.
General Agim appealed to media practitioners to collaborate and support the military in its efforts to bring the war against insurgents to an end and restore normalcy in troubled spots.
According to him, everyone should be involved in ensuring that peace reigns in the country. “Security is not for military alone, it is a job for everybody.” He said the public should be able to give information to the security agencies.

He appealed to the media to help “educate the populace that everyone has a job to do to secure the country.”
Earlier in his remark, former director of Defence Information, Major General John Enenche had said that he had confidence that Brigadier General Agim would perform excellently and do more on the post, he being a professional media man with vast experience.
He appealed to the personnel and the media to extend to the new director the good working relationship he enjoyed while on the post.
