Scarlett Johansson tops 2019 world’s best-paid actresses

For the second year in a row, Scarlett Johansson is the best-paid actress in Hollywood. Johansson, who also doubles as a singer is ranked overall as the eighth highest paid actor in the world, after Adam Sandler who is in the seventh position.
The 34-year-old Johansson’s income is about $56m (£45.7m) and in 2019, earning more income of about $15.5m (£12.6m) this year.
In 2018, Johansson and Angelina Jolie were the top two actresses that earned above $20m (£16.3) but Jolie, who earned $28m (£22.8) in 2018 – drops out of this year’s top 10 due to increased earnings for several of the highest earners in the top 10.
Mila Kunis, Julia Roberts, Cate Blanchett, Melissa McCarthy and Gal Gadot were other names that dropped for this year’s Forbes’s list.
Johansson’s first leading role was as Amanda, written for the San Francisco Chronicle and transitioned from teen to adult roles with two films in 2003.
In 2015 and 2016, Johansson again played Black Widow in the MCU films Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War and In 2019, she once again reprised her role as Black Widow in Avengers: Endgame, which is the highest-grossing film of all time.
She is currently acting in and producing two forthcoming films – Maleficent: Mistress of Evil and The One and Only Ivan.

‘’The Rock’’ whose real name is Dwayne Johnson was announced as the highest-paid actor of the last 12 months earlier last week, making $89.4m (£73.6m) according to the latest annual rankings from the financial experts.
