Quit notice: We are sons and daughters of northern region -Igbo leader

The Eze Igbo lll ,Igwe Godwin Emeka the Igbo leader of Adamawa state replied to the quit notice given to Igbo’s in the North by the Arewa Youth Forum as a mere propaganda, asserting that Igbos in the region are going nowhere because they are also bonafide Sons and Daughters of the northern region and consider the order as a huge mistake.

Igwe Emeka asked questions that need urgent answers from the Arewa group of where do they want them to go to considering the fact that their means of livelihood is entire in the north and live as normal people without any cause of alarm or sentiments of sort.

“Nigeria is our father land; we are sons and daughters of this great country, leave and go where? He asked.
While speaking to journalist in his Palace in Yola, he maintained that the Arewa Youth were ignorant of the fact that Igbos are Nigerians and also part of the North.

According to him, Igbos exist in Adamawa and other northern states, they are part of the people and culture of the north and not strangers.

He disclosed that Igbo are contributing to the growth and development of any state they are staying, hence are inseparable part of that community.

“If we go to the East, we are considered strangers thus, the north is home to us, most of us were born and grew up in the north, we were schooled in the north, married in the north, we have relationships and bond with the people of the north, we are Igbos of the North”, He affirmed.

The leader of the Igbos called upon his people in the north not to panic, but continue doing their businesses like never before as they are home.

“The Igbos are peace loving people whose main goal is to contribute to the development of where ever they find themselves”, Igwe disclosed.

While praying for peace and unity in the country, Omenaka called upon the Federal and state government to ensure they protect Igbo’s and their property in their domain.
