Qatar reverses self, agrees to host investment forum
In a surprising turn of events, Qatar has reversed its earlier decision and will now host the business and investment forum proposed by President Bola Tinubu during his upcoming visit to the Arab country on March 2, 2024.
Initially, Qatar had declined the proposed forum, citing the unavailability of the country’s minister of commerce and industry. However, a leaked memo revealed that Qatar’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry has apologised for the rejection and confirmed the forum’s scheduling.
Contrary to previous reports, the Qatari embassy has clarified that there was no snubbing of Tinubu, emphasising that the forum is just one of several events planned during the Nigerian President’s visit.
