President Tinubu Mourns Senator Solomon Otegbola, Asiwaju of Aworiland, at 91

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of Senator Solomon Ayodeji Otegbola, the Asiwaju of Aworiland and one of Nigeria’s most revered elder statesmen.
In a condolence message to the Otegbola family and the people of Aworiland, the President hailed the late Senator as “a man of immense dignity, principle, and dedication to the service of his people and country.”
“Senator Otegbola was a devoted public servant, a respected legislator, and a patriarch whose influence spanned generations. His commitment to developing Aworiland and Nigeria remains deeply appreciated and widely acknowledged,” President Tinubu said.
Reflecting on their personal connection, the President recalled his role as Chairman at the wedding of Senator Otegbola’s son, Wale, more than 20 years ago — a testament to the enduring friendship between their families.
“Nigeria has lost a patriot. The Awori nation has lost a guiding light. And I have lost a noble elder whose life embodied sacrifice, wisdom, and service,” the President stated.
