Presidency reacts to CAN’s prophecy on Fani-Kayode

The presidency has reacted to the prophecy made by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode.

Daily Times reports that the chairman of the Lagos state chapter of CAN, Alex Bamgbola, had prophesied that Fani-Kayode will emerge the Nigeria’s leader some day.

Reacting to the prophecy, Fani-Kayode accepted the prophecy and even went on his knees in an attitude of faith.

But the presidency in a tweet on Thursday, September 3, questioned the spiritual integrity of not just the cleric but also religious organisation.

Tolu Ogunlesi, a special assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on digital and mew media, on his Twitter page wondered if CAN is still a Christian body.

He tweeted, “Is the C in CAN still for “Christian” or have they changed it to something else?”

Bamgbola had told Fani-Kayode that he would become the president of Nigeria someday if he remained humble.

Apostle Bamgbola made the pronouncement in Lagos on Sunday, August, 30, at the occasion of Bishop Isaac Idahosa’s celebration of 31 years in ministry.

Fani-Kayode, swiftly went on his knees to claim the pronouncement.

He said any law that sought to regulate the affairs of the church is evil, adding that those that made the law were also evil.

Fani-Kayode said: “My position is simple. You cannot regulate the affairs of the church. The church of years has stood for many years; hundreds of thousands of years ever since it was established.”

Daily Times recalls that Fani-Kayode recently insulted a Daily Trust Journalist over a question during a press briefing in Calabar.
