The Yobe state Police Command and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Monday commended people of the state for abiding by the directive of the government restricting inter-state movement for the past two weeks.

Abdulkarim Dungus, the Police Public Relations Officer and Mr. Ayinla Olowo, the NSCDC state Commandant made the commendation in a separate interviews in Damaturu.
The police image-maker said that so far, obedience to the lockdown order was commendable.
“Yobe police command already has existing boundary patrol teams which intensified their operations with the coming of the lockdown orders by adding more personnel,” the spokesman said.

Similarly, the NSCDC commandant also said the compliance level among the public was commendable.
“Though the lockdown orders are partial, people have shown commendable tolerance and compliance to the directives,” he said.
On April 7, the Yobe state government extended the border closure with neighbouring states and stay- at -home order for workers, to April 30.
