Police Killed Two Shiites In Kano, Islamic Movement Claims
The Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) has claimed that 2 of its members lost their lives when police shot at them during the annual Arba’een trek at the weekend.
A statement signed by the spokesman for the group, Ibrahim Musa, said the armed policemen were deployed to stop the group from conducting their procession.

He said: “We started the trek from Kofar Mazugal within the Kano metropolis, where armed mobile policemen arrived the scene and started firing teargas and eventually live bullets which led to the death of a male and female members of the group”.
The police are yet to make an official statement on the matter.
There are reports that the Kano Command of the Nigeria Police has since banned any procession, including religious and political agitations that may likely results to tensions among the good people of the state.
After the group clashed with officials of the Nigerian Army in 2016, Kaduna State government banned their activities, but the group has continued to function in other states.
