Police declare MASSOB activist wanted for flouting bail conditions

Ekwebelem Nwachukwu, an indigine of Amandugba, Isu Local Government Area of Imo state has been declared wanted by the police for disobeying a court order.
The 47-year -old Nwachukwu was charged to court by the police for offences bordering on reasonable felony and public disturbance.
He was granted bail on the condition that he must not be among any group or association or join any secessionist group or agitate for the separation of Nigeria.
Meanwhile, the Imo state police while declaring him wanted said that he was issued a letter of invitation, but he refused to honour the invitation.
The police is accusing him of secretly associating with the Movement for Actualization of Sovereignty State of Biafra (MASSOB) in disregard of his bail conditions forbidden him from doing so.
Therefore, the police intend to apply for a revocation of the bail and the continuation of his prosecution while he remains in custody.
“The police investigation team has now declared him wanted and anybody who sees him or knows his whereabouts should contact any nearby police station for his immediate arrest or call 112 or 199,” the police statement stated.
