Plateau United club mend fence with FM station in Jos
The Plateau Football United Club has apologized to a private radio station in Jos known as JAY FM over an invasion on its station to abduct and assault a sports presenter also known as Mbum Ferdinand.
This was contained in a press statement issued at the end of a Press briefing organised at the instance of the Station Manager of JAY FM in Jos on Thursday.
Briefing Journalists, the Station Manager, JAY FM, Mr. Yusuf Wamyil, said “it is important that we categorically state that we accept totally, the official apology of the management of Plateau United Football Club, and commend the General Manager Mr. Pius Henwan for taking responsibility for the condemnable actions of some members of the Supporters Club.
“We hereby wish to appeal to many of our listeners who withdrew support for Plateau United Football Club on account of the forgiven and forgotten incident to promptly reconsider and join us on a timeless journey to make Plateau State great again through the exploits of our darling team”, he said.
Recall that our correspondent had reported that on Saturday 24th March, 2018 around 6:25pm after a magazine sports show called “Sports Extra” from 4-6pm, some thugs led by the Chairman of Plateau United Supporters Club Mallam Audu, under the orders of the General Manager of Plateau United Football Club Mr. Pius Henwan,
invaded the premises of Jay 101.9 FM Jos in a black Honda Accord, and a Peugeot 406 Wagon which was branded with 4+4 and Lalong Boys, with the picture of the Plateau State Governor boldly inscribed on it, and assaulted, battered, and abducted Mr. Mbum Ferdinand, a Sports Presenter/Journalist with the Radio Station to an unknown destination.
