Plateau Killing: Military Taskforce to shoot at sight

The Special Military Taskforce mandated to restore peace in Plateau State has warned those fanning the embars of war that it will shoot anyone found carrying arms.
The Task Force also known as Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), said it will no longer tolerate any form of unwarranted killing of innocent citizens.
The OPSH stated this on Wednesday in Jos during a stakeholders meeting of community leaders in Plateau held at the instance of the Commander of the Force, Maj.-Gen Dominic C. Onyemulu.
According to him: “From henceforth, the OPSH will shoot at sight anyone found farmenting trouble or caught with AK47. We shall no longer tolerate any form of criminality or unwarranted killing of innocent Nigerians.
“Resolve your issues according to the guidelines provided for you. Pay compensation if cattle is rustled and when farmland is encroached”, he said.
Gen. Onyemulu said he will be holding all community leaders present at the meeting responsible for any peace breached in their community.
Recall that gunmen last Sunday night killed seven persons at a community called Dong village in Plateau
The assailants were reported to have suddenly invaded the village and shot sporadically, killing over seven persons.
Before then other attacks were also reportedly carried out in Ryiom and Bassa LGAs where no fewer than 14 persons lost their lives.
