Plateau frowns as Yobe born Ciroma becomes new CP

Yobe state born CP Bala Ciroma has officially taken over from CP Undie Adie as Police Commissioner for Plateau State. Our correspondent had reported the move to replace Mr. Adie after he reportedly flouted directives from federal authorities to keep secret the death toll from the recent attacks in the State.
Another sin of the outgoing CP, it was learnt was his seeming resolve not to out rightly support claims of cattle rustling, used by Fulani leaders as justifications for the attacks.
However at the announcement of the new CP, youths in the State on different social media platforms were sending messages registering their displeasure.
A statement by the State Police Public Relations Officer, Tyopev Terna however did not give reasons for his transfer and did not also say where Mr. Adie was transferred to.
It only reported that the new CP until his appointment was the Deputy Police Commissioner in charge of the FCT’s Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (CIID).
CP Ciroma according to the statement is a graduate of the University of Maiduguri who has served in different capacities in the Force and elsewhere, working in almost all 36 States of the federation and the FCT.
