PDP Woman Leader Resigns in Kwara

The Kwara State Peoples Democratic Party women leader, Hajia Nimota Oba Suleiman, has announced her resignation as the women leader of the party in the State.

In a letter forwarded to the state chairman of the party, Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo, Suleiman said her resignation was sequel to the defection of her leader, Sen. Gbemisola Rukayah Saraki, from the PDP in Kwara State to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Suleiman, a former member of the National Assembly said that since Sen. Gbemi Saraki had instructed her supporters to vote massively for the APC in the state before the last Saturday election, she had come to realise that her membership of the PDP has become untenable.

“Therefore, in fidelity to her ideology and in solidarity with her political leadership, I, Hon. Nimota Suleiman, this day, cease to be the State Women Leader and member of the PDP in Kwara State”, the ex-woman leader further said.

However, a call made to the State Chairman of PDP, Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo and the State Publicity Secretary, Chief Rex Olawoye, could not get through as the line repeated that their numbers were not available but the Assistant Public Relations Officer of the party, Hon. Femi Yusuf, said he was not aware of the said letter, but assured that as soon as he confirm the resignation, he will call back.
