The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial agent for Bauchi South, Yakubu Ibrahim, has rejected the National Assembly election final results for the zone.
Ibrahim, speaking on Monday at the presidential Collation Centre in Bauchi, insisted that three out of the seven local government areas in the zone were attacked by insurgents during the election, while the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials, from the areas said that they were yet to receive results from about 10 polling units, but, went ahead to declare the election conclusive with a winner emerging.
“We do not agree with results from Alkaleri, Bauchi South and Kirfi local government areas, as those areas were attacked, while collation of results was going on and all those involved ran into the bush for their safety.
“Instead of waiting for the whole results to be assembled, compiled before being collated, they only used those at hand to conclude the election”, adding that the party would seek the opinion of its legal adviser with the option of contesting the results in the election petition tribunal.
