How PDP held our Commonwealth for 16 years – Mohammed

The Lagos State Chairman of Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), Comrade (Alhaji) Musa Mohammed has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the steps taken so far to bring back the glory of Nigeria once again.

Mohammed made this known when he paid a courtesy call on the Executive Secretary of Amuwo Odofin Local Government, Deaconess Modupe Ajibola-Ojodu at the Council’s Secretariat in Festac Town, Lagos.

Comrade Mohammed noted that, “PMB has a very clear agenda of defeating Boko Haram and extremists of all sorts, and of rooting out the corruption that has too often held back the economic growth and prosperity of Nigeria.

“You can agree with me that the All Progressives Congress (APC) led Federal government is different from that of the ousted Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which held our commonwealth for 16 years without any tangible development to show for their rule. We will continue to support the Government of PMB to bring about the necessary dividends of democracy to the governed, ’’ the State Chairman said.

The Chairman further noted that the association is pained with the sufferings the citizens experience daily on road due to traffic gridlock. “We are really saddened and pained seeing the endless traffic gridlock experienced by Lagosians. We will not rest in our oars to assist the Governor of Lagos State in achieving his aims of a free traffic in the state. As we speak, we have deployed our workforce to assist LATSMA in achieving this,” he said.

“Amuwo Local Government is strategic to the State and Nigeria. The Executive Secretary has been doing a tremendous job. We need to support her in all ramifications, hence the courtesy call,” he stated.

Comrade Mohammed who has spent one year in office, stated that his administration has built a new secretariat, bought brand new buses for his task force and sensitization committee members and also inaugurated traffic control committee of over 200 men, with the singular aim of assisting LATSMA in controlling traffic in the State.

Deaconess Ajibola-Ojodu, on her part thanked the State Chairman for his visit, noting that she would be more than happy to continue the cordial relationship that exist between the Local government and the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN).

The Executive Secretary appealed to the warring factions collecting toll at Durbar Road Junction, Mile 2 to stop forthwith. She noted that anybody caught flouting the order, would be handed over to the law enforcement agencies which will stop at nothing in arresting such persons.

Deaconess Ajibola-Ojodu reiterated that peace is what is needed for development and progress of any society and that any act that would compromise the peaceful co-existence of Amuwo Odofin Local Government in particular and Lagos State in general, would not be tolerated.
