Paul Usoro SAN extols virtues of the FG’s new ease of business executive order

Prominent communications legal practitioner and NBA presidential candidate, Paul Usoro SAN charged business executives and industry operators to work for improved business conditions in the country. Usoro SAN was a guest speaker at the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) Business Luncheon for Managing Directors/Chief Executive Officers where he spoke on “The impact of legislation, regulations & policies on the ease of doing business in Nigeria”

At the event, which took place at the Lagos Airport Hotel, Usoro SAN highlighted the challenges of the Nigerian business environment stressing on the manufacturing industry and also commended efforts put in place by the government, particularly the Executive Order, the impact and changes it has had on the ease of doing business in Nigeria.

In his words, “The business environment in Nigeria is fraught with lots of challenges that affect the manufacturing sector of the economy. These challenges include deficient power supply, unstable economic factors, the multiplicity of taxation, lack of synergy and cooperation among various MDAs of government and lack of continuity of government policies. To address some of these identified challenges, the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo SAN, issued the Executive Order which has as its policy, to create an enabling environment for business and entrench measures and strategies aimed at promoting transparency and efficiency”.

Usoro added that the Executive Order seeks to promote domestic and foreign investments as well as the creation of employment and stimulation of the Nigerian economy.
