Pakistan celebrates 71st independence, promises more support

The Pakistan High Commission to Nigeria, on Tuesday commemorated the 71st independence anniversary in Abuja, with a renewed commitment towards combating terrorism and contributing its quota to peace keeping in the African continent.

The High commissioner of Pakistan to Nigeria, Ambassador Waqar Kingravi said 14th of August every year affords Pakistanis the opportunity to reflect on the struggles of their founding fathers.

He said although terrorism and militancy remain reoccurring decimal in the life of Pakistan, the country remains resolute to stem the tide.

Describing the Nigerian-Pakistan bilateral relationship, Ambassador Kingravi who recently assumed office, said he is looking forward to improving cordial and trade relationship with Nigeria.
