Oyo APC Discredits PDP’S Ibadan State Rumour
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, has alerted the populace to beware of the misleading and false promises by supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that President Goodluck Jonathan would create Ibadan State, if he wins the March 28 presidential election.
The party, in a statement issued and signed by its state Chairman, Chief Akin Oke, and released through its Director of Publicity and Strategy, Olawale Sadare, dismissed the promise as a joke taken too far by the foot soldiers of the President, contrary to the body language and declaration by him.
“With the benefit of hindsight”, the party said, “creation of Ibadan State had become an electioneering mantra, prior to every general election, which the PDP had employed, since 1999 to date, to sway support in the direction of its candidates.
“Before swallowing the Ibadan State bait”, APC reminded the unwary citizens that “(President) Jonathan did not make any such promise during his campaign adventures to the state, not even during his visit to the revered Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Samuel Odulana Odugade I”, the statement added.
