Over 400 Anambra APGA aspirants call for Victor Oye’s sack

Over 400 National and State Assembly aspirants of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra state have called Chief Victor Oye, the National Chairman of the Party to resign for lacking capacity to lead the platform.

They also vowed to sabotage the party in the forth coming state Assembly elections if Gov Willie Obiano fails to refund the monies they spent during the primary elections of the party where they were short changed.

It would be recalled that a reconciliation Committee was set up by the Gov after the said primary election in which it was resolved that monies spent by the aggrieved Aspirants during the exercise you’ve refunded to them.

The group insisted that the abysmal performance of APGA in the last National Assembly elections would be a child’s play compared to what would happen at the state Assembly election promising that the party would lose the thirty seats in the state.

According to the leadership of the body headed by Chief Owelle Mbanaso, Dr Charles Ebulue and former majority leader of the state Assembly Chief Humphrey Nsofor

“You are all aware of the show of shame that played out in the last election where our party could not win any seat in the Senate and could not win all the Federal House of Representatives seats in the state rather lost some seats won by the party in the last election.

You are also aware of the failure of our National Chairman Chief Victor Oye to deliver his polling unit in the last election and how an opposition party swept the polls.

This is a testimony of the fact that our National Chairman lacks the capacity and leadership qualities to steer the ship of our great party.

It has also given the strong indication that if our party is left under the watch of Victor Oye that would mean the death of the party.

To this end we hereby ask Oye to honourably resign from the position or that the National Working Committee of the party should invoke the relevant sections of the party construction for the sack of our non performing National Chairman Chief Victor Oye.

The group also recalled that in its last meeting with the Governor, he promised to refund all monies spent by the aspirants before and during the primary elections which according to them has not been done.

“We wish to remind our governor of the agreement reached in the last meeting with all the aggrieved aspirants where he promised to refund us all that we spent during and before the primary election which he has not done.

“These two demands must be met before the conduct of the state Assembly election in Anambra state or what happens at the election would be a dress rehearsal compared to what will play out in the National Assembly elections.

“It is not our intention to run the party down or to ruin the chances of the party but it is in the interest of the party that Victor Oye must go and it is proper that justice equity and good conscience must be allowed to prevail by reconciling the short changed aspirants in order to avert further injustice in future”, the Group said.
