Otukpo Old Boys Association Congratulates Akume
The Otukpo Government Secondary School, Old Boys Association(OGSSOBA), has congratulated third time senator-elect, Senator George Akume on his victory at the just concluded National Assembly election.
Speaking to Daily Times at the association general meetingin Abuja, the chairman of Abuja branch, who is also a 1972 set of the school, Chief Gabriel AnmoOigabo stressed that the victory of Senator Akume is well deserved, describing thesenator as a workaholic, who always avail himself with themotto of his alma-mata “discipline and service”.
Senator Akume, a 1971 set, who has been in the senate since2007 after governing Benue state for two terms(1999 – 2007), is seen as an epitome of humility and always ready to serve.
“Akume had in many occasions enjoyed the mandate of hispeople to serve through his act of discipline which has been imbedded in him from his days in GSS Otukpo”, Chief Oigabo added.
While speaking further, Chief Oigabo argued that “As senior and experienced senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, currently serving as the senate minority leader, Akume is qualified to be the senate president whenthe 8th senate will be inaugurated come 4th June, 2015, according to the rules of the National House of Senate.
“Wepray and hope that Senator Akume attain this political height to enable him deliver and render more service to hispeople and to Nigeria in general.”
