Osibanjo, Oshiomhole to storm Kano, may receive Shekarau, others

There are strong indications that the former Minister of Education, Ibrahim Shekaru would be joining the Ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) after all, any moment from now. This is coming on the heel of rumours that the former Minister has defected from the People Democratic Party (PDP) following the dissolution of the Kano PDP Executives by its National Chairman, Uche Secondus.
Recall that, throng of supporters, belonging to Aminu Wali and Ibrahim Shakarau camp, on Monday in Kano, staged a solidarity protest at the party’s Secretariat to reject the dissolution of the State Executive leadership by the national body of the party during which Kwankwaso was rejected after being accused of being behind the crisis.
However, the PDP Chairman in Kano, Senator Mas’ud Jibril- El Doguwa unequivocally stated that he remains the State party Chairman, also that, all the other Exco members’ seats remain valid until a fresh election is held.
Since the beginning of the crisis, there had been rumours from different quarters and information from the Shekaru’s camp indicating that the two times Governor of Kano State and former Minister of Education has defected from the PDP a rumour he (Shekaru) dismissed and pleaded for calm as discussion were on going on what line of action is to be taken next.
Information available indicates that, the APC is on the verge of concluding plans to woo the aggrieved former minister and his supporters as the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, the APC National Chairman, Adam Oshiomhole and other top APC Officials are expected to pay Shekarau a visit during which final arrangements would be made to receive him and his supporters.
The crisis which has hit the PDP in Kano no doubt, is being celebrated within the Gandujiya’s Camp as the APC is left without any other strong political opponents to contend with, come 2019 general elections.
