Ondo OPC asks Gani Adams to resign National Coordinatorship

The Ondo State chapter of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) has asked the National Coordinator of the group, Otunba Gani Adams, to resign to allow for a new leadership.

The state’s coordinator of the Yoruba socio-cultural group, Comrade Rotimi Akinsowon ,declared this in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State during the first year anniversary that the faction renounced Adams’ leadership.

The Ondo coordinator stated that the anniversary marked a year of freedom from Gani Adams slavery.

He said he was delighted that members of the OPC in the state were still with him in the struggle to liberate the group.

Akinsowon, explained that the support has demonstrated that members had realised the antics and bad precedent of the self-acclaimed leader.

According to him, Gani Adams has no say in the state again because those that early stitch allegiance to him have now backed out having realised his leadership lapses.

The coordinator said Adams had been using deceit to gain followers in the past.

In his own speech at the anniversary, the Special Guest of Honour, who is also the Kwara State coordinator of OPC , Comrade Maruf Olanrewaju, said Gani Adams’ stay in the organization was long overdue, advising him to step aside to allow peace to return to the group they laboured for.

Olarewaju said that Adams has been alleged of fraud and various atrocities committed during the regime of Goodluck Jonathan.

He claimed that Adams collected billions of naira from the former President and it was moral bound on him to resign to sanitise the integrity of OPC in the country.

Earlier, Woli Sunday Bamole had led the group on a special prayer to mark the occasion of one year anniversary that the group exited from Gani Adams faction.

Bamole called on them to love one another and eschew quarrels and maintain peace and order.

The clergy also preached unity among the members of the group in the state and county at large.

Other leaders that graced the occasion were the Baba Odua from Lagos and chiefs from various communities in Ondo state were also in attendant.
