Okowa committed to peace, security – Hope George
The Senior Special Assistant to Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa, the Delta stata Governor on Youths Development, Hon. Amb. Comrade Hope George, has said that His Excellency is committed to peace and Security of lives and properties of Deltans in fulfilment to his S.M.A.R.T. agenda policy of meaningful peace building and prosperity for all Deltans.
This was made known to some group of Journalists in his office in Asaba on the occasion of a courtesy visit by the Leadership of Urhobo Security Network (URSEN) led by its National President, Comrade Itoddem Edaghware.
The Leadership of URSEN who commended the SSA on Youth Development for his contributions to Youth Development, Youth Entrepreneurship as well as peace and security and prosecuted an award of ILON Leadership to the Youth Ambassador, Comrade Hope George.
According to Comr. Itoddem, the birth of URSEN as particularly established amongst the Urhobos of the Delta Central Senatorial District had helped the people to go their normal business without being molested or any form of security challenges. He stated that their activities in the area has reduced the menace of Fulani Herdsmen, kidnapping, rape, armed robbery operation, and other criminal acts. Adding that the goal of the organization is to provide a crime free and safer society.
However, the SSA Youth Development commended the Leadership as their efforts towards peace and security and noted that Delta State Govt. will partner with them is then, the outfit as the organization is timely as the process of its operations will provide a safer ground for investors through in the state.
Finally, the SSA who had been a recipient of many awards commended them for finding him worthy of being a recipient of “ICON OF PROGRAMMATIC LEADERSHIP” and stated that he will communicate the gesture to the state Govt. on the need to ensure that the needed logistics, empowerment programmes and other equipment for efficient and effective operations gets to them for effective and Security Operations in terms of community policing in the society.
