Okon assures on Rivers Angels’ title defence
Rivers Angels head coach Edwin Okon has said his side’s focus is to successfully defend the league crown after a four-goal thriller at top-flight side FC Robo Queens. The Jewel of Rivers defeated the Lagos landladies 3-1 in Wednesday’s Nigeria Women Premier League (NWPL) matchday 11 clash at the Legacy Pitch, National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos. The Port Harcourt side’s trio of Alice Ogebe, Patience Kalu and substitute Ibinabo Georgewill inked their names on the score-sheet, while captain Rasheedat Ajibade scored the consolation for the hosts, FC Robo Queens.
