Ojo: Buhari ‘s Confidence Vote in Osinbajo Will Stabilise Presidency

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Ekiti State, Engr. Kayode Ojo, has applauded the commendation given to Acting President Yemi Osinbajo by President Muhammadu Buhari on his loyalty, saying this will further stabilize the presidency and prevent rancour in the country’s polity.
He said the vote of confidence passed by Buhari had nullified the impression created by some northern groups that Osinbajo was
tribalistic and allegedly favouring the southwest in the appointment he had made in the presidency, particularly in appointments of aides.
The Nigeria’s first lady, Hajia Aisha Buhari, on Tuesday expressed Buhari’s confidence in Osinbajo after returning from London where her husband was receiving medical treatment , commending the Acting President for his loyalty in this trying period.
Making the statements in Ado Ekiti, on Wednesday, the governorship aspirant , said Buhari’s statement as expressed by his wife would reinforce the confidence of the Northerners in Osinbajo .
Ojo saluted the president’s courage to make the statement, lauding the Vice President in the midst of the mixed feelings from some Northerners that Osinbajo has been favouring a section of the country.
“This is a plus to Nigeria’s presidency. The Aso Villa is the symbol of this nation and any instability in that office will affect the entire nation adversely. We want to commend President Buhari’s patriotism for it takes a man of valour to be able to lay the fact bare as he did in spite of the vilification earlier passed against Acting President Osinbajo by some Northern oligarchs”.
Ojo urged Nigerians to continue to stand as one and repose confidence in one another regardless of diversity in ethnic, political and religious inclinations .
The APC chieftain also commended the governor of the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola for intervening in the crisis between Governor Ayodele Fayose and petrol dealers, saying this had brought stability to Ekiti.
He said Aregbesola’s intervention had further proved that making Nigeria a great country required severing of ties with ethnic,
political and religious bigotry by our leaders and strengthening of synergy among states for stability and progress.
The governorship hopeful regretted that the matter could have been resolved amicably without going beyond the shores of the state, if the two feuding parties have listened to wise counsels and be ready to shift grounds having in mind the public that will ultimately bear the brunt.
“Governor Aregbesola is a member of APC and he dropped the toga of politics and decided to help his colleague, Governor Fayose to
overcome the fuel crisis so that the striking oil dealers could suspend their strike. This was a rare display of statesmanship and all Nigerians must learn from this patriotic action”.
