Ogun monarch protests against land speculators

The Royal father of Atan in Ado-Odo Local Government of Ogun State, Oba Olatunji Oluwole and some high chiefs from the town on Tuesday stormed Iwe- Iroyin in Abeokuta to protest against the activities of some people suspected to be land grabbers.

Addressing newsmen at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Press Centre, Oba Olatunji called on the State government and law enforcement agencies to come to their aid as the land grabbers are bent on causing crises in the once peaceful town.

Oba Olatunii who was flanked by Seven Baales from the villages in the town said the activities of land grabbers need serious tackling and assistance so as to guide against bloodshed and breakdown of law and orders.

His words ” I Am here this morning to come and express the position of things within my domain and the Baales with me and all the subjects that own the land at Igando land in Iju/ Atan/Ilogbo LCDA in Ogun state”.

Some people suspected to be land speculators are now terrorizing the whole place with the police backing”.

“They are the tools terrorizing our domain here on Egandan Akibo axis of Alago village, Egando-Akinbo village, Aiyedego village, Lemomu, Kajola, Adeseun, Oloya village”.

“What I want the government to do for us is to take drastic action against this land grabbers as they continue to terrorize us day in day out”.

“We continue to live in fear every day, we want government to come to our aid in resolving this issue and look at it properly. We are passionately appealing to Governor Amosun to come to our rescue, so that we don’t lose our lives”.

These land grabbers are not indigenes of Atan, they are land grabbers being appointed by somebody from Onigbongbo. We are not from the same line with them, they don’t belong to us.

We are begging Governor Ibikunle Amosun to come to our rescue by giving directives to appropriate quarters in order to call them to order.
