Ogun First Lady, Olufunso Amosun eulogised in a book launch

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has described wife of Ogun State Governor, Mrs. Olufunso Amosun, as a jewel whose deeds and merits are written in gold.
The revered royal father stated this on Saturday in Ile- Ife during a book launch written and dedicated to Mrs Amosun with a title, “Queen Moremi Ajasoro” at Oduduwa Hall, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State.
The monarch described the Ogun State First Lady as an Amazon in the likeness of the legendary Queen Moremi Ajasoro, a powerful and courageous Queen who fought a fierce war during her time to save her people from marauding invaders.
While extolling Olufunso Amosun as a woman in character of the legend, the Ooni of Ife said that she is courageous, intelligent, beautiful, humble, soft spoken and selflessly useful to the society just like Queen Moremi served in her time.
His imperial majesty also said that her generosity, humility and magnanimity in service makes her a role model, while as a caring mother, she has remained a strong pillar in the sustenance of democracy in Ogun State behind her husband, Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun.
The royal father said, “Olufunso Amosun has immensely supported cultural agenda in Ogun State, Nigeria and beyond. Her merits has been written in gold and she has become a heroine in Yorubaland”.
The book, “Queen Moremi Ajasoro” written and produced by Princess Ronke Ademiluyi in collaboration with Oduduwa Foundation and Obafemi Awolowo University, Center for Cultural Studies was launched by Ooni of Ife as a historic book in preservation of Yoruba cultural heritage.
The book written in two languages, English and Yoruba is a monumental documentary of the feats of the famous Yoruba Amazon, “Queen Moremi Ajosoro” who fought wars, sacrificed her only son for the emancipation of her people from the marauding intruders.
It will be used in schools as a history book. According to Ooni, her legendary feat brought peace that monarchs, royal home and entire Yoruba race enjoys today.
The celebrant, in company of her husband, Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun, was a cynosure to behold at the hall as tributes and accolades were bestowed on her by numerous speakers.
The venue was filled to the brim with royal fathers, monarchs, government officials, Academia and cultural enthusiasts from far and near.
Special guests at the launch include the Olugbon of Orileigbon, Oba Olushola Alao as the chairman of the occasion, Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu; wife of Osun State Governor , Mrs. Sherifat Aregbesola; Mrs. Moremi Soyinka-Onilaja, daughter of Prof. Wole Soyinka; the Vice Chancellor, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Prof. Eyintayo, and host of others.
