Ododo assures Okehi rainstorm victims of support

The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has assured victims of rainstorm in Okehi of support from the state government.
The governor, represented by his deputy, Comrade Joel Salifu on Monday visited Eika, Ihima, and several communities in Okehi Local Government Area affected by the rainstorm to evaluate the extent of the devastation.
The incident took place on June 16th .
The Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor Mr Unubi Emmanuel, in statement yesterday said Salifu, during the scene inspection, condoled with the victims of the rainstorm.
He descried it as a catastrophic event that resulted in the destruction of properties valued at hundreds of millions.
He stated that, having assessed the number of homes and properties lost, the government is committed to providing immediate relief to the affected individuals, aiming to alleviate their hardships and restore their hope for a brighter future.

Governor Ododo expressed his gratitude to the residents for their immense support of the Kogi State Government and the All Progressives Congress, assuring them that the present administration will not abandon them in their time of need.
Hon. Monday Amoka, the Executive Chairman of Okehi Local Government Area, stated that over four hundred homes were destroyed by the rainstorm on June 16th across many communities in the local government.
He conveyed the residents’ gratitude for the government’s presence and support for the victims, expressing appreciation for the construction of good roads, while pledging their support for Governor Ododo’s reelection in 2027 as a means of reciprocating the current administration’s goodwill.
Also, the deputy governor and his entourage made a brief visit to the palace of the Ohi of Okehi Local Government, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Ahmed Ogido Abdulraheem, and the Ezu of Egiri Clan, His Royal Highness Mallam Suleiman Omeiza Umar.
