Obiano warns Abia PDP: Your days are numbered, prepare to quit

The just re-elected governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano has told the Abia State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that its days as the ruling party in the state are numbered.
This strong signal came in Umuahia Wednesday during a victory rally by the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) to celebrate the Anambra APGA victory in the just concluded polls.
Obiano, who was represented by the Secretary to Anambra State Government, Prof. Solomon Chukwulobelu had a message for the PDP in Abia: “Your days in Government House are numbered. You should prepare to quit the seat of government.”
He urged PDP faithful in the state to move in their droves to APGA as the party will replicate in Abia the Anambra APGA feat in Awka and capture the Abia Government House in 2019.
He said the APGA victory in Anambra was not for Anambra people alone, but for the entire Igbo race, stating that the victory shows that the people had suffered under PDP in the state in the past, but reprieve had come their way after PDP had instilled hardship on them.
“The same will happen in Abia come 2019. All Anambra will invade Abia, Imo and Enugu” to ensure the right thing of protecting votes is done, he said and described APGA as a moving train that will stop in Government House, Umuahia, come 2019.
He thanked APGA faithful in Abia for being steadfast, while urging the party’s gubernatorial candidate in the April, 2014 elections in the state, Dr. Alex Otti not to worry as “only people with headache take APC.”
Earlier in his speech to the multitude of faithful at the event, party’s gubernatorial candidate in the April, 2015 elections in the state, Dr. Alex Otti said the victory of APGA in Anambra “was emotional, just as it is monumental and record-breaking. One, because of the importance of Anambra to the Igbo man, and secondly, because APGA has a special place in our hearts, as it represents the political launch pad upon which we can chat a new course and turn around our socio-political and economic fortunes if we properly utilize the beautiful opportunity which APGA provides.
“There is presently an awesome feeling of pride and fulfillment in the hearts of Ndi Anambra, having stood firm and ensured that they use the power of light which their PVCs represented to defeat the united power of darkness which election riggers represented.
“By their choice of Gov. Willie Obiano for a second term in such a historic manner, Ndi Anambra has fearlessly told the whole world that the era of backwardness and mediocrity was over.
“They spoke loud and clear that they have taken their destiny in their own hands. We must draw inspiration from this and show greater determination to change the Abia political narrative for the better,” he said.
He further stated: “The slave hat loves his chains remains in bondage. We must not wait for our situation to become irredeemable before we look for a solution, therefore let every Abia resident here today realise that to break a jinx of underdevelopment ravaging Abia State, we must show an extraordinary kind of altruism, think outside the box and do something extraordinary for the good of our state and our people.”
He assured his faithful that the: burning desire to replicate and even surpass the Anambra leadership example in Abia State is very much alive, hence the need for all of you to remain optimistic, committed and steadfast in our quest to herald Abia State of our dream, as that is the only way my lofty leadership vision or Abia can be actualized.”
He also advised them to be courageous and confident because greater things are beckoning on them and him in the state.
In his welcome address, the state party chairman of APGA, Augustine Ehiemere said only APGA can give democracy dividend to Abia State and Nigeria, stating that the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the PDP are the same as the APC are the greedy members of the PDP.
Accepting that there is disagreement in the party that made some members to leave, the state party boss said that when such members return, they will not be discriminated against, assuring that the party must shun discrimination and work with them.
