Obasanjo lack intergrty to criticise Buhari, says Lagos APC

As reactions continues to trail the letter written by former President Olusegun Obasanjo advising President Muhammadu Buhari not to seek re-election in the 2019 general elections, the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has said that Obasanjo lacked the integrity to criticize the President.

The Deputy Publicity Secretary of Lagos State APC, Mr. Biodun Salami stated this in an interview with The Daily Times, noting that the party would not join issues with the former President because he has soiled his integrity in the country and his antics was well known.

Salami said the former President should explain to Nigerians what he did with the two terms he ruled the country, adding that the former President only accumulated properties with questionable source at the expense of Nigerians.

He said Obasanjo been as a proponent of third term lack the moral integrity to accuse Buhari of nepotism, stressing that he has soiled his name with questionable decisions and actions while in office as President.

Salami said the ideal of a third force by Obasanjo was dead on arrival, adding that the APC was not afraid of any coalition by political forces in the country.

The Publicity Secretary urged Nigerians to be patient with the present administration adding that it was working assiduously to implement the manifesto of the party.

He said, “Our party don’t want to join issues with Obasanjo, he has gotten opportunity to rule the country what has he done? He was the proponents of third term, when he was President, ask Fayose how all the governors were asked to donate N10 million to his project, what about the Hilltop Mansion?

“He has soiled his name, we have his record to nail him, leave him and his third term force that he is setting up, we would see the end of it.

“The Buhari government is on course and we are working to fulfill the party’s program and manifesto to Nigerians, we just want them to be patient with us,” Salami said.
