NURHI2 relaunches ‘Get it together’ family life programme

 

The Nigeria Urban Reproductive Health Initiative 2 (NURHI2) has relaunched its ‘Get It Together’ radio programmes in Kadua, Lagos an Oyo states to encourage discussions around relationships and family life.

The weekly programmes – Komai Nisan Jifa in Kaduna, Se’rigbo in Lagos and Ireti Eda in Oyo icked off on Monday, November 22.

The radio programmes will feature top-quality drama, the latest jams, real stories and the chance for callers/listeners to win prizes in weekly quizzes.

In a release made available to Daily Times, NURHI said, “you may have been listening to the programmes these past few months and enjoying a live talk programme with our experts, however, from now on you will be hearing an even more absolutely exciting version. The programmes now present captivating drama that showcases everyday lives of people and their decision to plan their families, testimonials from satisfied users, religious leaders, service providers, artisans and so on.

“Listeners can also call in to the programme and speak directly with family planning experts, who are there to answer their questions on air. The programs will be broadcast in Hausa in Kaduna and Yoruba in Lagos and Oyo.”

NURHI Project Director, Dr Mojisola Odeku said, “We want Nigerians to think of family planning as part of everyday life. The Get It Together radio programs build on the success of our popular radio programs during NURHI I and the hit song “Get It Together,” featuring Paul ‘P Square’ Okoye and Tiwa Savage, with the aims of reaching people through music and entertainment, engaging them in discussion, and increasing awareness and demand for family planning in Nigeria.”

The radio programme are part of the ‘Get it Together’ Campaign which encourages all Nigerians to know the facts about family planning, talk to your partner and go for family planning services.
