NSE sustain decline as ASI fall 0.08%

Equities transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) deepened losses by 0.08 per cent on Wednesday as the All -Share Index closed at 36,641.52 points.
The day’s performance was in comparison with a 0.81 per cent depreciation recorded previously, bringing the Year to Date Returns to 36.34 percent.
By the close of Wednesday’s trade, the market capitalization reduced further by N10 billion and closed at N12.613 trillion, in contrast to a decline of N104 billion recorded previously.
Nigerian Aviation Handling Company recorded the highest depreciation of 5.56 per cent to close at N3.40 per share. It was followed by Law Union and Rocks that dropped 4.94 per cent to close at 77 kobo per share and Caverton fell 4.76 per cent to close at N1.20 per share.
Transcorp trailed with a loss of 4.73 per cent to close at N1.41, while Nascon Allied Industries declined by 4.69 percent to close at N13.20 per share.
Conversely, Glaxosmithkline recorded the highest price gain of 4.99 per cent to close at N23.15 per share. Custodian and Allied Insurance followed with a gain of 4.86 per cent to close at N3.67, while Learn Africa garnered 3.95 per cent to close at 79 kobo per share.
Jaiz Bank appreciated by 2.94 per cent to close at 70 kobo, while ETI added 2.21 per cent to close at N17.59 per share.
The volume of shares traded in 3,543 deals closed at 198.6 million units valued at N2.936bn. This is in contrast to 211.9 million shares valued at N4.742bn on Tuesday.
