Notorious kidnapper eliminated in Nasarawa police operation

The Nasarawa State Police Command has confirmed the death of a notorious kidnapper during an operation in the Akwanga Local Government Area.
Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, announced the development in a statement released on Saturday in Lafia.
The operation was executed by a joint team of police operatives, the Nigerian Army, and local vigilante members. Nansel identified the suspect, known as Honor, as a wanted criminal linked to multiple armed robberies and kidnappings.
He was intercepted near the Akwanga Central Mosque on Friday, March 14, around 10:00 p.m., while riding a motorcycle. The suspect was fatally shot as he attempted to flee.

A search of the area resulted in the recovery of a Beretta pistol without a serial number and 12 rounds of 9mm live ammunition. One accomplice managed to escape with gunshot wounds, prompting a manhunt for his capture.
The deceased’s body has been taken to the Akwanga General Hospital Mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
Commissioner of Police, Shetima Jauro-Mohammed, praised the operatives for their professionalism and collaboration, encouraging continued efforts to combat crime throughout the state.
The police reaffirmed their commitment to upholding law and order and warned criminals to stay away or face severe consequences.
